A render is not a design

Most shower visualisers show a pretty box of glass and stop there. The problem is that none of the things that actually sink a frameless enclosure are visible in a picture. The door weighs what it weighs. The wall leans however much it leans. The hinges have to land in blocking that either exists or does not. And the door sweeps an arc that either clears the toilet or does not.

That is why this model is built from a geometry engine rather than drawn, and why the glass carries its real edge thickness — a half inch build genuinely looks heavier here than three-eighths, because it is. What you rotate on screen is the same data that becomes the cut list.

Why there is no price on this page

Because it would be wrong more often than right. Two openings with identical dimensions can differ by a wide margin once you account for wall condition, access, tile thickness, whether blocking exists, and what the last installer left behind. We would rather hand you an exact specification and quote it honestly than put a number on a screen that we have to walk back on site.

The four that end jobs

  • Hinge load. A half-inch door much over 34 inches wide exceeds what a standard hinge pair carries. It sags, then it stops closing on the magnet.
  • Blocking. Frameless hinges carry the door into the wall. Tile and backer board will not hold it, and you cannot add blocking after the tile is on without opening the wall.
  • Plumb. Past about a quarter inch of lean over the height, the gap tapers visibly and the glass has to be scribed — a decision that must precede fabrication.
  • Swing clearance. The arc equals the door width. In a compact bathroom it lands on the toilet surprisingly often, and reversing the hinge side afterwards means new glass.

Questions people ask

Because no two shower openings are the same, and a number on a screen would be wrong more often than right. Wall condition, access, tile thickness, whether blocking exists, hardware availability and the state of the substrate all move the figure, and none of them are visible from a configurator. What you get instead is an exact specification — panel sizes, glass weights, hardware and the engineering checks — which is what a real quote is built from. Send it and you get a firm number rather than a guess.
